Any individual with a physical, mental, cognitive, or other form of disability who has a substantial impediment to employment may qualify for the following services through the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS): job placement, job skills, assistance with resume writing.
We provide medication-assisted treatment services for opioid, alcohol, and other substance use disorders. Our psychiatric staff are qualified to prescribe most medications, such as naltrexone, buprenorphine, and more, that are available to help treat addiction. Although we do not prescribe methadone, we can assist in referral to methadone providers, as well as provide transportation to local clinics.
Clients can be referred to their local social services office to apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or General Assistance services.
Clients can meet with the Outreach Department to discuss any issues with their Medicaid or other insurance.
Our staff keep in consistent contact with Recovery Court regarding client engagement in treatment, as well as meet with Recovery Court on a monthly basis to review client progress and challenges. We also will write letters and speak on behalf of a client when appropriate if they are facing legal issues.
To assist clients to identify current issues that need to be addressed, especially emergent needs beyond the normal daily needs. These may include, but are not limited to: legal issues, Social Security, telephone calls for services needed, medical transportation, Board of Social Service needs etc.
The PCC will encourage task completion by client whenever appropriate.
Unity Place has a psychiatrist on -site one day per week, as well as an APN on-site three days per week. Clients are scheduled to initiate psychiatric services within the first two weeks of admission to the program.
Our staff has access to an extensive housing list and applications that they will assist the client with completing.
Learning to recognize the symptoms of a group of disorders, including major depressive, bipolar, substance-induced mood, and mood disorders is key to getting the proper diagnosis and treatment for the client. Importance factors such as risk factors, prevalence, family history, and others are taken into careful consideration.
We have a phlebotomist on staff to assist with blood work for medication monitoring.
Clients will be picked up by one of our transportation vehicles and brought to and from our program.
We offer comprehensive, structured, non-residential health services provided to adult clients in a day program setting to maximize clients’ independence and community living skills. Unity Place strives to provide or arrange services necessary to meet the comprehensive needs of individual clients.
Unity Place prides itself on taking a personal approach with each and every client. We celebrate the individuality of each client and work with the client to ensure that every member of our community is provided with the tools to develop necessary life skills and community reintegration.
Every client is provided with groups that focus on mental health diagnoses, symptoms, and treatment options. Groups focusing on addiction and relapse prevention are provided for co-occurring clients. Clients are also provided with case management, pre-vocational, and social services as needed to help them on their journey.
